Vice President Liu Bo Met KTH Delegation

On the morning of April 26th, a 15-member delegation led by professor Urban Westergren from Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) visited Southeast University (SEU). Vice-president Liu Bo met the delegation. The two sides held a detailed discussion on the issues regarding student exchange. During the meeting the necessity and significance of facilitating SEU’s internationalization process was highlighted. Meeting participants from SEU include those from Students’ Affairs Office, Graduate School, Academic Affairs Office, Office for International Cooperation, College of International Students, School of Architecture, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Information Science and Engineering, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Biological Science and Medical Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering and School of Economics and Management.
 
KTH, whose main campus is located in the center of Stockholm, founded in 1827, is one of the top ten universities in Europe. SEU and KTH signed a cooperative agreement in October, 2004. School of Architecture of SEU has kept collaboration with KTH counterpart on matters including joint research and talent cultivation for several years. The latest result of this fruitful collaboration is the founding of Joint Research Center of Urban Sustainable Development and Architecture in November, 2011. In regard to student exchange programs, starting from 2005 SEU annually recommends 10 students to KTH for post graduate study; and starting from September, 2011, each year 8 students are recommended to study at KTH as exchange students.
 
With 15 members from 8 schools and departments, the KTH delegation aimed to further promote the exchange and cooperation between KTH and SEU, especially the KTH students studying at SEU. This successful visit greatly enhanced the understanding between the two parties, and laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.
