On 18th August 2012, the “2nd Engineering Excellence 9 Summer Camp” opened at Southeast University. Vice-president Pu Yuepu attended the opening ceremony, which was hosted by Director Shi Lanxin from Office of International Cooperation. Vice-president Pu delivered a warm welcome speech to students home and abroad, in which he wished the students to learn about China, Nanjing and Southeast University through the short stay.
This summer camp is another grand activity after “1st Engineering Excellence 9 Summer Camp”，which was jointly organized by 3 Chinese universities out of the members of EE9 last year. This year, the summer camp was organized by Southeast University, Dalian University of Technology and Harbin Institute of Technology. 28 students participated in the summer camp, 18 were from European universities and 8 were from Chinese universities. The aim of this camp is to stimulate communication between overseas students and Chinese students, to encourage overseas students to learn about Chinese history and culture, as well as the development and changes of Chinese society. Meanwhile, it improved the Chinese students’capability of international communication, creativity and interdisciplinary working ability.
