l  学校概况 Overview

东南大学坐落于六朝古都南京，是国家教育部直属的全国重点大学，是国家“985工程”和“211工程”重点建设大学之一。自1902年建校以来，东南大学历经百年沧桑，现已发展为国内顶尖的高等学府和科研基地，工程类学科在国际享有盛誉。2017年，东南大学入选世界一流大学建设A类高校名单。

Southeast University (SEU), located in Nanjing—the historical capital of six ancient Chinese dynasties—is one of the national key universities administered directly underthe Central Government and the Ministry of Education of China. SEU was one of the universities of "985 Project" and "211 Project” financed by the Central Government to build as a world-class university. Founded in 1902, SEU has grown into a leading academic and research powerhouse, particularly renowned for its exceptional engineering programs.In 2017, SEU was selected into the “Double First-Class” Initiative as a Class A university.

东南大学现有36个院系，90个本科专业。有全日制在校生40220人，专任教师3371人，两院院士16人。学校12个学科入选国家“双一流”建设学科名单，位列全国第八位，其中工科学科数11个，位居全国第二，仅次于清华大学；17个学科进入ESI世界前百分之一，材料科学和化学位居ESI世界前千分之一行列，工程学位与计算机科学位居ESI世界前万分之一行列。

SEU currently consists of 36 schools and departments offering 90 undergraduate programs. The university has 40,220 full-time students and 3,371 full-time faculty members, including 16 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. SEU has 12 disciplines selected for the national "Double First-Class" initiative, ranking 8th nationwide. Among these, 11 are engineering disciplines, placing SEU second in the country, just behind Tsinghua University. Additionally, 17 of SEU’s disciplines are ranked among the top 1% of ESI global ranking, in which materials science and chemistry are ranked among the top 0.1% globally, while computer science and engineering science are ranked in the top 0.01%, placing 4th and 13th in the world respectively.

东南大学是我国国际交流与合作最为活跃的高校之一。学校与来自45个国家或地区的160余所世界一流大学和高水平研究机构建立了紧密的合作关系，包括美国麻省理工学院、加州大学伯克利分校、宾夕法尼亚大学等。

Southeast University has been actively engaged in international exchange and cooperation. It has established strong partnerships with over 160 world-class universities and leading research institutions across 45 countries and regions. These include prestigious institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of California at Berkeley, and the University of Pennsylvania, among others.

基本科学指标（ESI）由科睿唯安发布，广泛用于评估研究机构和科研人员的科研绩效。目前，东南大学已有2个学科进入ESI全球前万分之一，4个学科进入全球前千分之一，17个学科进入全球前百分之一。

The Essential Science Indicators (ESI), published by Clarivate Analytics, are widely used to assess the research performance of institutions and researchers. According to the ESI latest data, 2 SEU disciplines are ranked in the global top 1‱, 4 in the top 1‰ and 17 in the top 1%.

东南大学12个学科入选国家“双一流”建设学科名单，入选总数位居全国第8，其中工科学科数11个，位居全国第二。

SEU has 12 disciplines selected for the national "Double First-Class" initiative, ranking 8^th nationwide. Eleven of the disciplines are engineering disciplines, placing SEU the second in engineering rankings nationwide.

东南大学是我国国际交流与合作最为活跃的高校之一。学校与来自45个国家或地区的160余所世界一流大学和高水平研究机构建立了紧密的合作关系，包括美国麻省理工学院、加州大学伯克利分校、宾夕法尼亚大学，加拿大不列颠哥伦比亚大学、多伦多大学，英国剑桥大学、帝国理工大学、爱丁堡大学、伯明翰大学，瑞士苏黎世理工，瑞典皇家理工学院，德国慕尼黑工业大学，法国巴黎高科，新加坡国立大学、南洋理工大学，澳大利亚蒙纳士大学，日本大阪大学、东京工业大学等。

Southeast University has been taking an active part in the international exchange and cooperation. It has established close partnerships with over 160 world-class universities and high-level research institutions from 45 countries and regions. These include Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of California at Berkeley, University of Pennsylvania, University of British Columbia, University of Toronto, University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, University of Edinburgh, University of Birmingham, ETH Zurich, KTH, Technical University of Munich, Paris Institute of Technology, National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Monash University, Osaka University, and Tokyo Institute of Technology.

联合研究生院 Joint Graduate Schools

2012年，东南大学与澳大利亚蒙纳士大学于共同建立了东南大学-蒙纳士大学苏州联合研究生院。这是教育部批准设立的国内第一所中外合作研究生院，现开设14个硕士学位项目。

SEU-Monash Joint Graduate School (Suzhou) was jointly established by Southeast University and Monash University in Australia in 2012. It is the first Sino-foreign joint graduate school approved by the Ministry of Education to operate within China. It now offers 14 master programs.

2017年，东南大学与法国雷恩一大（现法国雷恩大学）合作建立了东南大学-雷恩研究生学院。学院有40余名教职人员，其中24人来自雷恩大学，现开设4个硕士学位项目和5个博士学位项目。

Rennes Graduate School of Southeast University was jointly established by Southeast University and Université de Rennes 1 (now Université de Rennes) in France in 2017. It has over 40 academic faculties, including 24 from Université de Rennes, and offers 4 master programs and 5 Ph.D. programs.

联盟 Alliances

2017年，东南大学发起成立了中英大学工程教育与研究联盟，是中国与英国合作建立的首个以工程教育与研究为特色的大学联盟。

In 2017, SEU initiated the establishment of the Sino-British University Engineering Education and Research Consortium, which is the first university consortium of its kind between China and UK with engineering education and research as the highlight.

2021年，东南大学与英国伯明翰大学联合发起成立碳中和世界大学联盟，成为全球首个聚焦碳中和领域技术发展和人才培养的世界大学联盟。

World Alliance of Universities on Carbon Neutrality, initiated by SEU and the University of Birmingham, was launched in Nanjing in 2021. It isthe world’s first university alliance that focuses on technical talent cultivation and research in carbon neutrality.
